Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. has announced that it has strengthened its position in Europe’s transport systems industry, opening a new division which is set to expand the company’s presence in the world’s largest transport market.
With regard to its overall sales figures abroad, Mitsubishi Electric aims to increase sales in Europe’s transport industry from 5% to 20%.
To this end, starting from April 2014, the new European transport systems division will sell and promote all of Mitsubishi Electric’s transport systems in the area, including power train, air-conditioning and electronic technology.
This announcement comes just months after Mitsubishi Electric group completed the merger with the Italian manufacturer of air-conditioning systems, Klimat Fer S.p.A., giving the Japanese company a 70% share of production in the Italian market.
Under the new name Mitsubishi Electric Klimat Transportation Systems S.p.A., the company will manage the production and after sales service for HVAC air-conditioning systems, combining the innovative technology from both companies to create a unique and cutting-edge range of products and services for customers in the market for air-conditioning systems for train carriages.
